Watermark Specialty Foods started in the early 1990s as a manufacturer of gelato ice cream. They sold their ice cream to restaurants in the Rochester area and had several retail stores of their own where they sold their delicious gelato ice cream. Watermark continued to grow as their product line expanded. In 2000, Pat and Kathy Bernunzio purchased Watermark Specialty Foods.

Before purchasing Watermark, Pat and Kathy had been in the bakery business for 25 years. The Bernunzios already owned Leo’s Bakery and Deli, and Leo’s delicious fresh baked goods were added to the Watermark product line.

Watermark and Leo’s expanded as Bob Randisi, the sales manager for Alliant Foods, came on board as General Manager. A few years later, Sam DiPerna, a lifetime food service guru, was added to the staff in Sales/Procurement. In 2007, Watermark built an 8000 square foot addition to their building, with a 2000 square foot freezer in the anticipation of future growth.

At Watermark, customers are an integral part of our business, and we only grow if our customers grow. It is our mission to give our customers prompt, courteous service at a fair price so they may succeed.

Watermark serves country clubs, fine dining restaurants, family restaurants, caterers, colleges, casinos, hotels, hospitals, bakeries, grocery stores, and farm markets in Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and the Southern Tier.
